Holy Crap!!!!!……….

It’s been almost 2 years since I’ve posted here. It’s not like nothing’s been going on there has been ALOT going on in my life.

Don’t worry, I’m still single not going done THAT road again.

Big C had a big down fall mentally and physically so I’ve been mostly focusing on her getting diagnosed and well again.

Basically she ended up again in the hospital a few times but we have FINALLY gotten a diagnosis she has Fibromyalgia. After many doctor’s, psychiatrists, counsellor, dietician’s we have a diagnosis and a treatment plan!

She is on permanent ODSP which is disability and just recently she did a Skype call with a Dr. in Ottawa who has prescribed her marijuana to manage her pain.

As the result of her fibromyalgia she lost almost 50 pounds drastically and we couldn’t figure out why. She also has, IBS irritable bowel syndrome,, and the depression and anxiety. This is all tied in together with the Fibro.

Anyways she’s on the right track physically and mentally now and GET THIS she has a BOYFRIEND NOW!!!

We will call him Mr. C.  He seems like a nice guy, treats her well all he needs to do now is to get a j.o.b.

Then I will like him even more.

We are still living in the Great White North and I’m still at the same job. And now that Big C has a life and is not home as much I now will have to find some stuff to do for myself now or I may end up staying home and be a “raging alcoholic” lol,,,, This does have a story to it and one day soon I will tell you about it. Let’s just say I work with some prreeetttyy weird people and there is some prreeettyy weird individuals that live in this small town.

Oh and we have a few more furry friends added to our family:

Kipper                          and                               Lola

Ya ya there are certainly a handful but they are worth it!

So let me know of any ideas of some hobbies I should look into,,,,give me all you got!

Life is good!

Time to have a feel good post!

Since moving up to Bancroft, I have reduced my rent by $300 a month which has freed up more funds.

This week I was able to update our crappy old television to this baby!

RCA 42 incher of course big C has been playing Playstation non stop since Sunday!

By moving north we also reduced our cable and internet fee’s, for the same amount we paid in the city we now get all the cool channels, unlimited internet (gotta have that so Big C can talk to her lil lady overseas) and a home phone! We went without a phone for almost 2yrs before.

I also have a job that keeps me really busy and I have progressed from a measly 24 hrs a week to a average of 37 hours a week, not too bad for just starting over just 2 months ago. I also have now been trained on not just my hired position, but also on pricing and signing!

In August I will finally be able to start putting money away for my retirement, AND hopefully to be able to go on a trip south sometime during the winter 🙂

Big C is doing really well. She now has a job she really enjoys and her anxiety and depression seems to have disappeared for the time being. She’s making friends and enjoying the freedom of spending her hard earned money on things she wants. I’m giving her a grace period until the end of August then she will need to start paying a little in rent.I so love waking to hearing her giggling and laughing again.

Working at a grocery store has it’s benefits I get all the sales and we sometimes get the opportunity to buy meat at a really reduced cost. So we now have a fully stocked freezer, fridge and cupboards!

The hot and humid weather has finally broken and I took the opportunity to try out a new recipe:

Strawberry Nut Loaf mmmmmmm!

Strawberry Nut Loaf mmmmmmm!

Oh my goodness,,it turned out so good, sweet and moist!

So folks, that’s it things are looking up. It’s not perfect there will be some posts about some of the downsides, and I still am having a hard time meeting friends, BUT still it’s alot better than at the beginning of the year!

Happy F$%&*#G Spring!

So folks it’s the official first day of Spring. When I opened my beautiful brown eyes this morning and looked out the window THIS is what I was expecting to see:

Sweet Kitties

Ok, ok I admit that’s a little bit too hopeful but come on Mother Nature really another 4-8 cm’s of blowing snow, c’mon that’s just a horrible cruel joke.

Now these pics I took last week these made me happy, they aren’t pretty but these are small glimpses that make this Canadian gurl know that winter is finally coming to a end.

This is the snowbank that has hidden me from the local buses,,it's finally melting! Look at all that ugly dirt and garbage yuck!

And this looks like a river right??? Nope, it's the sidewalk that leads to the bus stop, with the snowbank. Yep the crap is finally melting!

Anyway I look at it. I have resigned too myself that I’m going to cooped up in the apartment for at least a few more weeks, before Spring really has sprung. Till then I will continue to work on my new project.

My first attempt at a little quilt, it's slowly coming together. Mostly because I'm lazy and choose the computer and tv over the poor thing.

How is everyone else faring? Any sign’s of Spring where your located?

Online dating etiquette….

Ok, people I think I’m just about ready to put myself out there again.

Just for dating,,no long term relationships but to just get out there and meet new people and men.

But just how to do this is the question?

I don’t like to go to dance clubs or loud bars and at my age they just seem to have lots of overaged wannabe’s and drunkards.

I could go to the pub,,,but I feel all weird sitting at the bar by myself and it’s a bit costly.

So I decided to go the way all the “cool” kids are going and that’s the online dating way. Now, I’m not exactly “clueless” to this, I have been on a few in the past.

I have been on Match.com and most that got in touch with me were thos catfish Nigerians,,,no thanks. Plus, I don’t feel the need to pay to meet someone.

So, I made a profile on POF (Plenty of Fish).

My question to you my friends is what is the proper etiquette on who exactly makes the first move. Is it proper for the man to message a woman or is it ok for the woman to take the “plunge” and message the man?

What are the “rules” and what are some of your go to “ice breakers of pick up lines”???

Give it to me, my people!

Catch up Olympic Sunday folks!

Wow, it’s been over 2 weeks since I’ve posted and I apologize (I really don’t), but I have been super busy y’all!

So what have I been up too you ask?

Weelllll, the kid’s didn’t make the cake because we didn’t have any vegetable oil, only olive oil and they didn’t want to take a chance on a failed cake (I think they also got caught up playing Playstation together) that’s ok tho because I had cupcakes at work from my boss so it was a win anyways plus I splurged and ordered Chinese food yuummmy!

The first week at work setting up the store I worked 60 hours and 8 days in a row. Man was I beat and sore. I had a day off and then worked all last week. The store opened on time and slowly word is getting around town that we are there and open and it’s picking up.

There are a few things that I have noticed in my first  2 weeks of  employment and they are:

1. The quality of the products is improving and more and more name brand things are being added. The reason for this is because as of this month there is now 1,000 stores across Canada and the company’s buyers are able to buy product by huge amounts. Like say Kit Kat bars, they will go to Nestle and say “hey we want a deal on these chocolate bars” and then they will go ahead and make a deal to buy 50,000 truck loads of the shit if they get the deal!

2. Apparently the nail polish OPI is a high commodity and a good brand, I found this out as the local owner of the nail salon down the street came in and bought all of my stock and has been coming in every day looking for more and the dude even asked if I could give him a call when more of it comes in. In my mind I was thinking “no way guy am I going to call you and help you rip off your clients who are paying over $30 for your services thinking that they are getting expensive nail polish when your really using $1 stuff,,ummmm no way”. And I’m also tempted to keep that stuff in the back when it DOES come in and only once you have come in to check then bring it out. I mean give other people a chance at the deal geez!

Lesson here folks who get there nails done. Is if you want to use expensive nail polish buy it yourself and bring with you!

I made the decision in the New Year to get back to doing something I used to like to do and that was to get back to sewing. I like to do it for fun and now I’m hoping to make it into a small at home business. So a few weeks ago I went to the local sewing shop and put some money down on a new machine and I picked it up yesterday:

sewingmess Yah, it’s still in the box and to the right I have some notions that I bought to fool around with this weekend as it’s a long weekend here. It’s family day weekend where everything is closed and your supposed to spend time with your family, meh whatevah,,,I see them EVERY day.

Valentines Day was on Friday and I wasn’t really looking forward to it but I got a call on Wednesday from the guy I met on New Year’s Eve and he invited me out for dinner. It was really nice and we had a good time talking and getting to know each other. It felt good to go out knowing there was no pressure  and that nothing was expected other than good conversation. He is still going thru a nasty divorce that has been ongoing for over 2 years and finally goes to court in March. We both have no intentions of rushing things and are content on going out once a month or so. He was such a gentleman helping me with my coat opening doors etc…And look he even brought me a card and chocolates!

And it's even the GOOD kind,,the one's that don't ever get reduced,lol!

And it’s even the GOOD kind,,the one’s that don’t ever get reduced,lol!

The plan today is to clean off this messy dining room table and break out that snazzy new sewing machine, probably watch some YouTube video’s on how to use the thing and make some stuff!

But first, my daughter’s and I are walking down to the local pub at noon, have some wings and beer and cheer along with the locals as the Canadian Men’s Hockey team beat I mean play against team Finland!

What's your favourite event at the Winter Olympics?

Have a great Sunday everyone and to my fellow Canadians that observe Family Day have a great day with your family’s on Monday!!

I Quit!

I said those words last week and it felt GREAT!

Finally my ex and I have had all the gov’t problems created from when he was nice enough to let me stay with him 2 years ago after my mental health breakdown. He was kind enough to let me stay in his bsmt apt for just over 6 months and the gov’t deemed us as being common law and put a hold on our tax refunds and my child tax benefits and other financial benefits that we were entitled too.

Finally the accountants have fixed this all up and the funds have been released!

I now once again have a nice financial nest and rent in the bank until the end of May. I was able to go out and buy some more house furnishings and stuff and the apartment is now feeling alot homier. The kitchen cupboards/fridge and freezer are full 🙂

And, I was able to quit the Wendy’s job and it felt great!

The Dollarama job is going great. I have been training at the downtown location in my town and at the end of the week we start setting up at the new location!

Life is good!
